Vascular lesions, also referred to as spider veins or port wine stains, are small groups of capillaries and blood vessels that form directly under the skin. Vascular lesions are extremely common and are typically caused by genetics, age, hormones, and activity level. Vascular lesions form in many different shapes and sizes on all parts of the body, but are most commonly seen on the face and legs.
Many patients seek vascular lesion removal to rewind signs of aging and reveal clear, radiant-looking skin.
Vascular lesions can easily be treated and removed with just 2 to 3 laser treatments. During a treatment, our Astanza Duality laser directs light energy onto the unwanted lesion. The capillaries selectively absorb the light energy, causing the lesion to collapse and cut off blood flow while leaving the surrounding skin tissue unharmed.
Over the weeks following your treatment, the treated area will form a small bruise. As the bruise heals, the skin underneath will reveal clear, blemish free results. The procedure time depends on the size of the lesion being treated, but never lasts more than a few minutes. Our Duality laser can perform safe treatments on all areas of the body with minimal side effects. Patients are advised to stay active and protect their skin from daily sun exposure to prevent additional vascular lesions from appearing.
